A dry week ahead, spilled coffee and a music video
Hello there!
It's already well into Sunday; for some of you, it might be evening. It's 4:30 PM, and we’ve had such a lovely day. It looks like we're heading into a week of dry weather with warmer temperatures, reaching up to 70 degrees on Thursday.
That will be so nice—time to dry up.
Today at church, my husband had a little mishap and accidentally spilled hot coffee on me during the sermon. It was definitely a first! While I forgave him I couldn't help but feel a bit annoyed. The coffee ended up on my purse, which was on the floor, and splashed on one side of my pants—thankfully, nothing else was affected! He's one of those people who loves to always have coffee in hand. Since my purse is lightweight, some things inside got wet, and now everything has that lovely coffee scent. I spent the rest of the service smelling like a coffee shop!
Even my key FOB has taken on the aroma!
A friend texted me this music video today, and I wanted to share it with you all.

Hopefully the coffee smell will go way soon. Glad you were not hurt by the hot coffee. We cannot drink or eat in our church. Maybe for that reason since the floor is carpeted. Please send some of your warm weather to Michigan please. Janice
ReplyDeleteI soaked it and air dried the purse.
DeleteWe have coffee in the lobby and coffee downstairs in the fellowship hall - I guess the churches here are more laid back about drinking coffee. The floor is carpeted but non of the coffee landed on the floor or seats - personally I don’t like it but it is not forbidden. We’ve talked about it since, and hopefully he will stop with the coffee drinking inside church.
I guess you could smell like worse things! :) But such a mess. I did worse the other night. I tipped a whole bowl of soup upside down on our rug. Uuugh!
ReplyDeleteJanice is right - we need some warmth in Michigan. It was 7 degrees when I got up this morning.
Neat song with the whole genealogy! Her voice is beautiful.
Oh no what a mess! Seems the only mess the coffee made was on me. Nothing on the carpet or seats! lol.
DeleteYes her voice is beautiful and I liked the arrangement of the song - how it reached a crescendo to “the Christ.” Brought me to tears!
I have never heard this song before! It is very nice. Well, I'm glad you didn't get burned by the coffee. We are having a blizzard! Even more need for coffee.
ReplyDeleteFortunately it wasn’t scalding hot coffee - I felt it through my clothes and that’s about it.
DeleteHow fun to have a blizzard. I’d love for us to get some snow this year. The Winter is still, young…
Oh no....I'm thankful that you didn't get burned from the spilled coffee. We have bitterly cold temps today and for the week ahead. Enjoy your sunny week....I would say send the sunshine our way, but it will be nice to have some Winter temps in our area. This is a beautiful video and knowledgeable as well....Debby, hope you have a wonderful week full of so many beautiful Blessings...
ReplyDeleteI’m actually jealous - I’d love to hunker down for a winter snow storm. Stay warm!
Deleteits more pleasant to hear who fathered whom in her beautiful voice than to read through them.. on no on the coffee spill. yay for dry and warmer air. we need wet and warmer air, praying for rain
ReplyDeleteGreat way to memorize the genealogy and learn the proper pronunciation of some of the names that throughout the years I have stumbled over.
DeleteI don’t know your normal weather there in Florida but I will pray for rain.
At least the coffee didn't burn you, Debby. That would NOT have been fun at all. Have a wonderful week ahead!
ReplyDeleteIt was right in the middle of the sermon - in a part I wanted to hear. Grrrrr
DeleteWhat a day, Debby! It sounds like a mix of mishaps and good vibes. The coffee spill must have been frustrating, but you handled it with such grace—it’s a great story to laugh about later. A week of warm, dry weather sounds perfect, and I’m intrigued about the music video. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by - I loved that video. It gave me chills.
DeleteGosh, you're warming up and we've a polar express blowing in!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you weren't burned by that hot coffee; that (spill) sounds like something I'd do. Pray your car fob's okay ... they're so expensive to replace.
Thank you for sharing this song!
Everything is fine. I just never had coffee spilled on me before in church! My husband needs to repent. LOL
DeleteHi Debby, oh dear, that is no fun. I hope you did not get hurt by the hot coffee.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the video, that was fun! A great way to learn. :-)

No it wasn't scalding hot. Thank goodness he didn't have sugar in it. I would be a sticky mess.
DeleteNo food or drink allowed in the auditorium at my church. That's the reason why. :)
ReplyDeleteI looked around, and I saw one other man, had coffee.
DeleteIt is bad enough when we spill on ourselves but to have someone else do it frustrating, even if it was your own husband. I once had a guy spill beer down my back at a Kings game trying to get to his seat. Nothing like spending the whole game smelling like a brewery!
ReplyDeleteYour coffee story reminded me of last week. I woke up at 4 am to use the bathroom and then could not fall asleep again for a while so I got up. I set up the coffee for the next morning. When I got home from the pool the next morning I walked by the maker and hit the button to start it on my way to the bathroom to hang up my wet suit and towel. went to the living room for a few minutes then walked back into the kitchen to see the coffee was all over the counter. Apparently I forgot to put the pot on the maker!
Goodness, Leslie, that is so funny. I've done that before, but it was a long time ago. What a mess! The beer being spilled on you - I wouldn't have liked that at all. I was frustrated with him, and he knew it. We had a nice "talk," and hopefully, he will toss the coffee before entering.
DeleteOur temperatures will be frigid for the foreseeable future so I'm hoping to experience nice weather vicariously through blogs :-)
ReplyDeleteHa ha, the same way I like to enjoy all the beautiful snow photos. The winter is still young - I'm hoping for snow here before spring. It has happened before, and it could happen again. Keeping my fingers crossed...
DeleteI'm so glad that you did not get burned! Normally, I really enjoy the smell of coffee..but, perhaps this one would just bring back a "bad memory." Try to remember you did not get hurt!!:) Have a great week ahead!!
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice song, thank you for sharing it. So sorry the coffee was spilled all over your purse and on You! That's no fun to clean everything and get that coffee smell out. Pretty sky photos, and we're supposed to get some sun here in the mountains this week too!
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific week, Debby.

I hand washed it and hung it on the line to dry - it's fine now.
DeleteDebby,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and for your kind words....Our week here in NEPA has been cold...High's in the 20's and lows in the teens...It has been a colder than usual Winter here...Like the ones I remember as a child...And we have had snow too!! I hope you are enjoying your week!!
Hugs,
