Countless prayers ascending to God’s ears…ever ponder the journey those prayers take?
In Revelation chapter 6, John witnesses the Lamb revealing the power of the first six seals on the scroll. In Revelation 8, he observes the opening of the seventh seal, where a profound silence envelops heaven for thirty minutes, creating a sacred pause before the seven trumpet judgments are unleashed. Following this moment of stillness, one of God's angels offers incense on the golden altar, as the smoke rises to God, carrying the heartfelt prayers of His people.
God hears His people when they pray, as our prayers rise like a sweet fragrance to Him. Prayer is our personal conversation with God, reflecting our faith and dependence on Him. Heartfelt prayer encompasses four essential elements: adoration (praise), confession, thanksgiving, and petition (or requests).
Through prayer, we embrace a profound connection with the Creator of heaven and earth.
Consider this for a moment... what an incredible privilege!
God has graciously welcomed us into a profound covenant relationship with Him through the person and work of Christ. With Jesus' sacrifice having removed the barrier of sin, we are empowered to communicate freely with God the Father in prayer.
As we lift our prayers for the LA fires, global conflicts, loved ones who are ill, grief, and the injustices many endure, let us find comfort in knowing that God hears every prayer and cherishes them in His heavenly storage.

Thanks!
DeleteWe were discussing this very thing a few hours ago at Bible study! Like one of my favorite hymns, "What a privilege to carry, everything to God in prayer."
ReplyDeleteAmen to those old hymns!
DeleteRevelation is so mysterious, so this is very interesting. Gorgeous Iris!!
ReplyDeleteI try not to get hung up on all the symbolism and mystery. In each chapter, I look for His character, our eternal Hope.
DeleteI agree with Ginny and with Carla. We all must continue to pray for there is POWER in prayer. California, North Carolina, Florida....these people all need our prayers. thank you Debby for this very powerful post.
ReplyDeleteAnd He covets our prayers!
DeleteI love this picture of God. Psalm 56:8 says God collects our tears in a bottle. He is aware of our every tear and hears our prayers and responds as He sees best for us. We are so blessed to be His children. That purple iris is gorgeous!!! Is that a current picture? We can't grow them here in Florida, but I do love them.
ReplyDeleteYes, I took it on Saturday.
DeleteVery humbling knowing that the God that created the world hears and answer our prayers. What an awesome God!!!
ReplyDeleteYes and it hurts me that so many reject Him.
DeleteThank you for this post and I am one of those daily lifting prayers, each crisis that has come I learn more how to handle it. do I like the crisis? NOOOOO but I am making it through by daily talks with God
ReplyDeleteI do that too, Sandra. I’m in my God-zone all day.
DeleteGod always hears our prayers, Debby, and I thank Him every day for listening to each one. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWe need to tell others who don’t know Him yet - oh what a blessing He will be to those who have never put their trust in him.
DeleteSuch a damn good post, thank you for writing it
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading it.
DeleteThat purple flower made my heart sing! Exactly the purple I love and appreciate so much. Thank you for all your prayers for the fires in So. Cal and for the safety of Nel and Jess. It's a terrible thing what's happening. Yes, God hears all our prayers from the loud cries to the smallest whispers, and He already knows what we need or want before we ask for it. And the verse "Be still and know that I am God" is my favorite verse. I needed to hear that once again, Debby. : )
