Friday Forgots - A Surpise Box in December
Here's something I forgot to post -
In December, we were blessed to receive a box from the Friends of Israel, a Ministry in which we volunteer. The box had invaluable resources for us to share with others.
Who doesn't enjoy receiving a box filled with goodies?
My husband received his box, and I received mine!
We had no idea and weren't expecting it, so it was a pleasant surprise.
Volunteering with this incredible ministry and connecting with others around the globe through Zoom - brings a spirit of unity. We have Zoom meetings once a month and a monthly newsletter sharing what we have all been doing. Not to mention ongoing online training. My husband just finished some courses on:
Zionism and Anti-Zionism - the History of Opposing Ideas.
Religious Anti-Zionism
The Middle East; Islamic and Arab Anti-Zionism
We have a variety of stickers available to distribute, and we offer a free subscription to "Israel My Glory," an excellent magazine that is available at no cost. We are reaching out to churches in the area to see if they would like to display this magazine in their lobbies and provide free subscriptions to interested individuals.
An inspiring read!

- Extend your love to the forgotten Jewish communities in Russia.
Inspiring pamphlets to empower and enlighten the churches in our community.
Empowering our communities with more handouts to the churches and information tables on campuses, and we received t-shirts!
My husband and Patrick, another member of Tikfah, are planning to set up a table at local colleges. Many students are misinformed about Israel due to social media and YouTube videos, so they will be handing out books and other materials to provide accurate information. FOI has informed us that they will send a box of supplies to support this effort, along with prayers for protection, as there are individuals on campus who may not welcome their presence.
But knowing my husband and Patrick,
they can both handle it!
When we first met Patrick and his wife, Debra, they came to our house. As I opened the door, Debra and I instantly recognized each other from BSF, where she is also a discussion group leader!
Small World.
So exciting times are happening around here -
Keep looking up! 👀
Debby

That is really a nice box full of interesting information and surprises! How wonderful that your husband and his friend are going to distribute these and do all they can to help the Jewish students, etc. It is a worthwhile project. Thank you for sharing this with us!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful outreach that you are participating in, Debby, and one that educates Christians as to their roots in Jewish tradition. So great, too, that you all, through this mission, are supporting the Jewish students on campuses who have felt so unwanted, blamed and shamed for what has nothing at all to do with fact or history. I'm praying for them and you. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThere’s at least a generation or two that were in the period when replacement theology was prevalent and it is not an easy task trying to get people to unlearn the blatant anti-semitism of some Christian denominations.
DeleteFirst of all, thank you for your comment. I love it, and really needed it tonight. Those fires are extremely worrisome. The book John the Baptist sounds wonderful. I just love to watch movies about him, he was so full of life. This was a nice and thoughtful box given to you and your husband. The giving catalog is important. And the Lucy picture and quote made me laugh. Sounds like me these days haha.

I ❤️ Lucy!
DeleteYou just amaze me with the wonderful things you are involved with!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is amazing to me, is that our amazing God got me out of my complacency and routine to start serving Him.
DeleteWhat wonderful surprise boxes. I like the idea of your husband and his friend going to the colleges to inform students. Am afraid students today being taught to hate and not what they should be learning...like the three "R"s of Reading wRiting and aRithmetic. We need to get back to the basics in my opinion. Janice
ReplyDeleteI agree Janice!
DeleteBeautiful post
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! Keeping you in prayer. smiles
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda
DeleteWhat a splendid initiative! Thank you so much for continuing to educate us so we might join you in prayer.
ReplyDeletePrayer is essential!
DeleteWhat wonderful gifts you and your husband received and what you are going to do with them. Prayers for safety and added boldness and receptivity too.
ReplyDeleteIts hard to believe that we were in Israel 25 years ago. It seems like yesterday. Seeing the "Living Bible" planted a very tender place in my heart for the land and the people.
Sue
You were blessed to have gone to Israel. We probably will never get there but we can still love the land and serve the people in our own small way here.
DeleteI am glad to hear they are going to the colleges, the world is so full of misinformation now, with the internet anyone can say anything and people believe it. prayers for their ministry at the college level to spread knowledge and love instead of the hate that seems to be growing.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful things to share with others and teach them. We need to have much more of this.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It’s wonderful that you and your husband received such a thoughtful surprise box filled with resources to share and help others. Volunteering with the Friends of Israel ministry sounds like a fulfilling and meaningful experience, especially with the Zoom meetings connecting people globally. I’m sure the stickers and the magazine subscription will be valuable tools in spreading the word and supporting those who are interested.
ReplyDeleteI just shared a new post; let me know what you think. Have a lovely weekend ahead.
That is pretty awesome and yes, it is a small world!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debby, what a fantastic gift and to share with others too.
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray along with you.
