September is in Full Swing

For goodness' sake, I hadn't realized that it had been a few days since my last post. Time just slipped by in a delightful blur....

BSF took place on Wednesday. My group of women are delightful, and it looks like this will be another great year of study and making new friends. We are exploring the exile of the Jewish people to Babylon and their eventual return back to Israel. We are examining the books of Ezekiel, Daniel, Ezra, Esther, Haggai, Zechariah, Nehemiah, and Malachi.

All Good Stuff.

Our adult couples group has started meeting again. - Every other Wednesday evening, we're studying the book of Acts, and I enjoy the discussions. On Thursday mornings, I attend my church's ladies' Bible study, which focuses on Isaiah.

Wednesdays and Thursdays are my most important days.

Summer has returned, but the scorching 100+ degree temperatures haven't. We're in the 90s.  Now is an ideal moment to venture outside before the winter rains arrive. (Nov)  We have some activities scheduled for this weekend that I am looking forward to.

Next Tuesday, I’m scheduled to have that Loop Recorder implanted. 😬 Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get my yearly mammogram in on time, so I’ll have to wait at least six more months before I can have that done. I’m not worried about it.

My husband is seeing an ophthalmologist tomorrow because he is experiencing flashing lights in his eyes.

❓❓❓❓

My knee had been recovering well, but I've recently felt discomfort that has hindered my progress. It's not fully healed, making me reluctant to return to swimming, especially with everything else going on. Bad timing - just started my YMCA membership, but now my knee is an on-off issue, and I need to heal from the Loop recorder before I can swim.

 September is a total wash!

Oh well, as my mother-in-law used to say,
"It's only Money."

I have been writing on Substack, and I now have 79 subscribers.  I am impressed by the many excellent Christian writers on that platform. There are some genuinely great reads!

Cultural Christianity had become so normalized in America over the last several decades that now Biblical Christianity seems radical.

Until Next time...
Debby

Glad it's cooled just a little so you can enjoy nature a bit.

The loop recorder I’m lukewarm on that but I’ll do it. Not thrilled about it at all! 😏

  2. I didn't see a post go up, so I was wondering if you were Ok. I'm really sorry that your husband is experiencing this in his eyes. The eyesight is so important, and I hope he finds the answers and care that he needs. So good of you to be starting up the Bible Study classes again. I've never heard of this Christian site that you are writing on. Thank you for the verse this evening. It's a special one. These pictures are awesome that you shared along with your words. Have a good September week, Debby. The month is going by so quickly.

    1. He’s being seen tomorrow at 9am. Yes it is of concern and I’m thankful he was able to get in so quickly. He just told me about it last night! So I made him get on the phone first thing and fortunately he got one pretty fast.

  3. That's a big chunk of the Bible for your BSF group to get through.

  4. Such wonderful Bible Studies happening in your world. We have gotten lots of rain over the last few days, so things are very humid when the sun actually peaks through the clouds.

    God bless.

    1. Well rain is in our future, as to exactly when we can only guess - sometime in November. Meanwhile we got tires for the van and are slowly getting things ready.

  6. I love the books you will be studying with your group, Debby. They are some of the gems of the Old Testament. Getting out in God's creation is the best medicine, too. Keep us updated with the loop recorder. Blessings!

    1. Yes Martha, it is going to be a good year of study and a few of the gals have never studied the Old Testament. It will make for some good discussion.

  8. I have very little time to blog right now, so no posts for me, but today I caught up on reading blog posts while sipping coffee. It's a very busy time for us this year. It's all good of course, but I do need to get order back in my home (ha ha ha!).

    1. Summer just refuses to give in. I don’t envy that humidity you guys have back there. I can’t function in it! Hopefully soon, summer will “ give up the ghost” so Autumn can do its thing! 🍁🍂
