The Orange Hodgepodge
1. What do you like most about your family?
We’re all aligned and moving in the same direction where it counts 😍
I prayed sincerely to God, expressing my desire to serve Him, and promised to trust, obey, and be patient. I sought personal revival to escape the Christian rut I had fallen into.
How does that make you feel?
God has graciously answered my prayers, and I feel invigorated! I'm experiencing a personal revival, serving Him in unexpected ways and taking more risks.
What's possible now because of it?
* New and exciting opportunities.
*I am utilizing my spiritual gifts
*I'm living a more purposeful life.
** My 44 year old son has found his way back to the Lord which is answered prayer. 😘
5. Let's wrap this one up with an October this or that...
- pumpkin bread or apple cider donut - pumpkin bread
- cozy sweater or cozy hoodie. Cozy sweater
- apple picking or pumpkin picking - apple picking
- scary movie or Hallmark movie - hallmark movie although I don’t watch them either.
- hay ride or corn maze - hay ride
- twinkle lights or candles - both
- autumn hike or autumn bonfire - autumn hike, then come home for a bonfire 🥾🔥

Christianity isn’t a TED talk. It’s not about polished words and perfect plans. It’s about fishermen who can’t stop talking about what they’ve seen and heard.
I want to be a fisherman.

you are already a fisherman, you live that life well. I once had an orange dress I loved, but that was back in the 60's, and have no worn it since and am not fond of the color.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to meet kind strangers, just put your husband in a wheel chair and push him around in public, I have people jumping in to help with doors and even offering to push him... during the past 7 months with all the dog and man health issues, I have received so many kind people helping it amazes me
Seems as if I also had an orange dress in the 60’s as well.
DeleteThere are good caring people out there but all too often we focus on the few who aren’t. I’m happy you are getting nice people who are kind to you. God bless them!
I love this! Thanks for sharing about your personal revival and your son. Encouragement for those of us who are praying for our kids!
ReplyDeleteNever stop praying. Now I pray my LDS daughter-in-law would accept the real Jesus. She’s coming around…
DeleteYou are a contented, happy woman.
ReplyDeleteAww thank you for saying that. I’ve never been more content.
DeleteI think it's interesting to see what type of spin people put on their Hodgepodge posts. I am with you on the carrots; I eat them every day.
ReplyDeleteI think so too. We’re all different.
DeleteHi, your #4 is fantastic Debby, thank you for your honesty. Amen regarding your son. Thank you for sharing today Debby!
ReplyDeleteLove, Carla
Thanks Carla. My son is on fire for the Lord now!
DeleteI do love oranges and carrots, but I can't wear the color orange at all, Debby. May we all be as committed to Jesus' love and mission as you are, my friend. Let's go fishing! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI’m game! Let’s do it! 🎣
DeleteWhat do I like most about my family? I love their generous spirit and that's not just monetary but their use of time and willingness to help. I love the little phone calls and emails when we haven't been together for a while.
ReplyDeleteOrange is a great color for Fall but I don't look very good in it.
I love both apple cider donuts and pumpkin bread...
A cozy sweater
Apple picking and Hallmark movies (sometimes the sappier the better )
Hay rides
Twinkle lights roasting marshmallows by a fire.
Each day is a Treasure from the Lord. I just need to remember that.
Sue
Sue I agree - you really do have a lovely family. Everyone mentions apple cider donuts but I’ve never seen one, or tasted one. I don’t know if our local donut place, Heavenly makes them. I’m going to have to check it out.
DeleteI'm happy for you and your son's return to the Lord. It's our greatest joy as a parent. Small kindnesses go a long way and the world needs more of them. Hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce - oh it is truly a joy to hear him talk about Jesus with such conviction. Thanks for dropping by!
DeleteThat is wonderful that the people in your area are so kind and I agree the trees look so much better in orange than me.
ReplyDeleteYeah we have some friendly people here - one of the first things I noticed when we moved here 17 years ago.
DeleteYou do seem in a darn good place. I like that your family is together. Love carrots. Enjoyed your answers.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandie. Glad you stopped by. ❤️
DeleteGod has really gifted you abundantly!!! Your spiritual journey is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI can’t take the credit. It’s totally a God job all the way. He is an awesome God!
DeleteMany of your answers sure Blessed my heart. Especially that your son found his way back to the Lord. You are such a blessing to so many people...
ReplyDeleteOh Shug, that’s the best part! Now I’m praying for my daughter-in-law who is LDS.
DeleteI wear orange in the woods and when I walk so people can spot me. :)
ReplyDeletePraise God your son turned back to the Lord.
That’s a good idea, Karen.
DeleteMy answers to Question 5 match yours. Glad your prayers were answered regarding your son. Janice
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike!
DeleteAuburn gear aside, I agree about trees wearing orange better than I do. (How funny you are!) I can't believe there was a time I loathed carrots ... but I'm trying to make up for it, one meal at a time. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteCarrots are good for you. I’ve always liked carrots and ate them for snacks as a kid. There was a time I detested spinach. Now I love it!
DeleteYou are in the best of all possible places in your life. I am happy that you have become a "fisher of men".
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thanks Jackie.
DeleteGreat answers
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Jo-Anne!
DeleteCarrot cake. Yum! lolol on the trees wearing orange better than you do. Happy Fall 🧡
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivy. 🥕🎂
DeleteOh, this is fantastic! Yes I agree with your view. Such a refreshing take on being renewed in the Spirit! Thank you so much for your visit! Many blessings.
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping on over, Sherry. Yes many blessings indeed!
DeleteWhat a delightful hodgepodge with your orange font, Debby. I have to be honest and say I didn't know what TED stood for. And that's so true; it's not all about polished words coming from social media. It's about His words that will forever be here and never fade away. I loved number 5, and they're pretty much all mine too, with the exception that I love to watch Hallmark movies, especially at Christmastime. There are also some good Lifetime movies as well. That's nice that people in your area are gracious when you're out and about. Makes daily outings pleasant. Speaking of orange, are you seeing any changing of color yet on the trees? I read one time that ORANGE is the happiest color.....I believe that is true! Your hodgepodge was fun to read today.

TED Talks are presentations from a non-profit organization that shares educational and inspiring ideas on a vast range of topics
DeleteI’m going to make an attempt to watch some of the Christmas hallmark movies by subscribing to the channel on Amazon prime. We do not have cable or satellite so I don’t have access to them.
Some trees are turning - my sweet gum trees have not yet turned but soon. 🔜
Looks like our first storm is moving in for this weekend. I’m excited. Planning to stay home and make some chili and bake. Fun. Have a cozy weekend, Sheri.
Any roasted vegetable tastes wonderful to me, and that includes carrots. Carrot cake is a favorite around here, too. We included raw carrots most nights in our salads.
ReplyDeletePraising the Lord with you regarding your son who has found his way back to the Lord. I have some in my family who need to do that, too.
A fisherman who can’t stop talking about what he’s seen and heard. What a great definition!
I enjoyed your answers. Orange is the one color I'm not fond of. I don't wear it well and don't have much around me of that color. Well, maybe pumpkins in the fall! Have a great day.
