You’re all so sharp—I knew you’d figure it out! Just having a little fun with you all. Keep those amazing brains working, huh?
Happy Saturday!
I will do some catching up with all of you about the last couple of days.

On Friday, my husband and his friend Patrick traveled to the college to set up their Friends of Israel table.

With prayer surrounding them, they experienced a remarkable absence of confrontations—only positivity prevailed, and they were warmly welcomed by everyone who approached the table. In addition to the Community College, we are blessed to have two Christian colleges in our midst. While we're still awaiting a response from Simpson, we are excited about Shasta Bible College. One of the professors visited their table and graciously invited my husband and Patrick to share their insights with students during Wednesday's Chapel on occasion.
How cool is that?
It is inspiring to see many denominations striving to overturn the years, or even centuries, of replacement theology.

I went out with my son, Foodie, in the morning, which is always a nice visit.

When I was alone, I stopped at a funky place that had a lot of metal art and sculptures I liked.

And these unique bird baths -

This is my favorite.
I visited the little market to check on the offerings at the farmer's stand. The farmer's wife informed me that her husband was currently "ripping" the ground. This process is essential for loosening the soil, which improves its quality and prepares it for planting.
Heck, I'm a city girl - I had no idea.
The dog was enjoying the freshly turned earth, relishing the cool, moist soil beneath his paws.
On the farm, there’s always a task waiting to be tackled, particularly when the sun is out and the weather cooperates.
I admire her unique and eclectic style rather than perfectly manicured yards.
I love how she can turn just about anything into a container.
Amazing the pumpkins are still remaining intact and in good condition.
I've always wanted to try this... she's got a few "flower beds."
Spotted this heron...
Looks like she’s been working hard at her little stand. She’s got goats milk soap with blackberry sage and lavender scents.
4 berry Jams left
Heart glass-shaped bath salts with dried roses and lavender grown on their farm.
A sweet little Valentine's gift...
What an inspiring woman!
I think I mentioned once that she grew up on a dairy farm and has never left the farm life.
I don’t get why I put myself in these situations. I had no cash at all! They go by the honor system, but I’d rather just come back with cash and buy more. I believe the honor system is great for situations like when you might be short a dollar or so. It’s more about helping each other out rather than just using it as a way to take things without paying.
This is Fire cider
This particular remedy seems to strengthen the immune system and can help prevent ailments commonly associated with cold weather. Its flavor is unique. Additionally, it has a potent aroma that some might describe as off-putting or pungent.
I came home and got ready with my husband to go out to eat with Navy and his wife at my favorite Mexican restaurant, which was packed and loud. We usually dine out midweek, so I had to use my outside voice to talk. The food was delicious, and we had a great time. The lively, boisterous atmosphere created an energetic vibe that made the evening enjoyable.
It's a little after 5 pm and time for me to rustle something up for dinner.
Enjoy your evening and I'll see you soon.
Debby
Sounds like a good day! I'm glad your husband and his friend had such a good reception!
ReplyDeleteThe store with the metal art looks like so much fun. I'd like to visit the farm too. I'm hearing a lot about how good tallow is for your skin.
I didn’t know that about tallow
DeleteA pig planter, and a bathtub and bed planter, this woman has vision! She really knows ow to package and present things too. My favorite is the goat's milk soap with the bee wrapping in the little sink!
ReplyDeleteThat’s what makes it fun to visit
DeleteSo very glad there was no confrontation at the college. I would love to visit that metal art store. How fun! With my grandparents farms, I did know about aerating the land. They also rotated crops from different fields every two years. It also helped with the nutrients in the soil. Janice
ReplyDeleteIt makes sense.
DeleteWhat a great day!!! Thanks for sharing, smiles.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda
DeleteCute place to shop. I have made fire cider myself. I often either make that or I make 4 thieves vinegar for winter time.
ReplyDelete4 thieves vinegar? I’ll have to look that up
Deletewhat a fab day, I would love to wander through the place you went by yourself. I prefer shopping/ wishing/wandering alone. those metal sculptures are amazing. I love the rooster. and the dog and all that you showed us. not sure how long it has been since I last saw a place with the honor system. 40 years ago here in Florida, people would put fruit out front of their homes with a jar to put donations in. we put our fruit out at the curve with a sign saying take what you want. or pick your own grapefruit for the tree that was in the front yard.
ReplyDeleteAnother Honor system is our plant giveaway - it’s called Take a Plant/Leaf a plant. Of course you always have those who only care about themselves!
DeleteWhat a splendid time your husband and his friend enjoyed at 'Friends of Israel'! I'm encouraged by that professor's invitation and hope you'll continue to keep us updated? Aw, those bird baths are adorable; I'd love to have seen them up close and personal. 'City girl' here, didn't know about 'ripping the ground' either but it looks like their pooch is giving it two paws up. Your sunflower shot is wonderful -- I can visualize it framed and hung. Now I'm off to Google tallow balm!
ReplyDeleteAmazing that sunflower is still growing
DeleteLove all the photos of the farm and the metal art. People are very creative and I have seen some very unique pieces of metal art. This farm looks like a place that I could spend a lot of time at. I know it was so relaxing for you. Mexican Food....love it! I think our Mexican food is most likely different from what you all have. Sam and I did eat Mexican food when we were in Santa Barbara and it was so very refreshing. It was light with a side salad of fruit. Here, our Mexican food is heavy and fattening.. lol. Lots of cheese, chili and fried. Enjoy this happy Sunday
ReplyDeleteWe have the heavy and fattening too or “rustic” which I like but the fresh Mex is good too. I like it all.
DeleteThe farm lady's style is absolutely beautiful and unique, Debby, and I'm so happy that your husband and Patrick felt so welcomed. Yes, this country is long overdue for an attitude adjustment, and as Christians, we should be leading the march. Hope you have an amazing day!
ReplyDeleteYes we should be more vocal -
DeleteThose are certainly some unique bird baths
ReplyDeleteI thought so too.
DeleteGlad to hear it went so well for your husband and friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely time walking around at the farm.
It is a quiet place that just makes me feel good when I visit.
DeleteIt sounds like such a positive and rewarding day, filled with good energy and meaningful connections! The opportunity to share insights with students at Shasta Bible College is definitely exciting. It’s great to see communities coming together and challenging old narratives. Your morning with your son also sounds lovely!
ReplyDeleteI invite you to read my new blog post: melodyjacob.com. Have a lovely week ahead.
Aww I was just there. Interesting
DeleteHow fun to visit this place of metal art and sculptures with your son. And that little market is so charming. I can smell the lavender soap from here. These would be great gifts for Valentine's Day. The jams look Yummy with the cute lady bug fabric lids. What a talented lady she is making so many creative goodies. Love that picture of the white dog, just sitting there enjoying his time on the freshly turned lawn. ; ) It's always nice to get out on the weekends to fun places. I've been wanting to do that myself!.
