The Fire Mitigation Goats
πNew Drone Delivery Program Takes Fire Mitigation to New Heights!π
In an exciting partnership with Redding Police Department and Redding Fire Department, the City of Redding is proud to announce the launch of our Goat Strike Force Drone Delivery Program!
As fire season approaches, our hardworking fire mitigation goats are more important than ever. However, reaching those tough, steep, and overgrown areas has always been a challenge—until now! Thanks to cutting-edge drone technology, our specially trained aerial deployment team will air-drop fire mitigation goats directly into hard-to-access locations across Redding.
Residents may notice drones carrying goats over local hillsides and greenbelts in the coming weeks. Please do not be alarmed—these goats are professionals and have been extensively trained in parachute landings (with a 95% success rate).
This revolutionary approach ensures faster, more effective vegetation control while keeping our city fire-safe. Stay tuned for live drone drop footage!

On April Fools' Day, I came across this post on our city's official page on X. The post features a cleverly designed April Fools' joke that highlights both creativity and humor. It was one of the standout jokes of the day, making it particularly memorable, especially since this is the time of year the fire mitigation goats are deployed.
Were you were fooled by this???

I was on high alert, having been fooled few times yesterday. But I did wonder! Very cute and funny!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was creatively written.
DeleteIt was a cute story, but I figured it was a joke.
ReplyDeleteYeah they could have created a better picture
DeleteWell, I was very suspicious! The photo just looks so ridiculous! A good one, though, as I was not totally sure it was a joke.
ReplyDeleteFun joke and well written!
DeleteI did wonder. LOL
ReplyDeleteWho knows, maybe one day, it will be a reality.
Deletewe both fell for it because its possible and a great idea .. ha ha you got two more and after April Fool
ReplyDeleteIt is possible but the city couldn't afford it.
DeleteToo funny and too good to be true, Debby. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWe love our goats here!
DeleteI love seeing the goats "mowing" the grasses in our area, along with their shepherd. At first I thought that this was a possibility but with the amount of goats used in the fields I thought it sure would make expensive crowded Skies...
ReplyDeleteToo funny Debby.
Thanks for giving me a smile today.
Sue
My first thought was you gotta be kidding. :)
ReplyDeleteHahahaha.
DeleteI saw this and thought what the hell this can't be true and it wasn't but I did wonder
ReplyDeleteYou never know. My husband said he would of fallen for it if it wasn't for the photo.
DeleteYep, I fell. Hook, line and stinker (lol).
ReplyDeletefunny!
DeleteWell you sure did fool me. I kept thinking how can a drone carry a goat, but was gullible and started to believe it the more I read on. Janice
ReplyDeleteYeah that is what made it unbelievable
DeleteI saw the picture and thought those goats are going to land in the water! I have seen goats used for brush control. I think it is a good idea. Thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteI was sure doing some deep thinking. I even said "surely this is a joke"..... Who knows...it might someday be the wave of the future. lol
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you did get me! ha ha! My first thought was ... what the heck? Poor goats. Now I'm laughing.
ReplyDeleteYou fooled me. I thought, what a great way to move the goats.
ReplyDeleteLet's just say I was somewhat skeptical about this, although if it had been in Humboldt County, I might have believed it. :)
ReplyDeleteAh-hahahahaha! How funny and original your city was with this! I knew it was a *joke* when I saw the meme, but that was some great writing by those folks! // I've added your blog to my list. I saw your comment (and particularly liked what it said), so I'm going to be visiting you often! Have a very blessed day, Debby!
