Tuesday Four on Fall and an update
1. Are there pumpkins or chrysanthemums on your porch, or are you planning on putting some out?
Once October arrives, I will begin putting up decorations. In September, I focus on apples. 🍎🍏
2. Are stores around you showing Autumn clothing and decor now?
They have been doing this since August. In fact, many Fall items are starting to be discounted. When I worked in retail decades ago at Macy's, we were always at least one season ahead.
Here in New Jersey, leaves on some trees are changing slowly, and temperatures are way down . What is it like in your neck of the woods?
Patrick's Point on Sunday
Turn up your speakers, you might hear the seals...
It reached 96 yesterday, and today it was 101. Last week we experienced a pretend Fall, which was enjoyable. We often play, “make-believe-it 's-fall" since our actual Fall typically doesn’t begin until sometime in November, when the rainy season usually kicks in. In the meantime, we need to drive about an hour or more to either the mountains or the coast to experience the coolness of Autumn.
3. Do you have plans for Thanksgiving yet?
Not yet. I’ll coordinate with my daughter-in-law and we’ll arrange something.
4 . If we can arrange an autumn trip or get away for you, where would you choose to go and why?
Yosemite on the East side in October
Half Dome in October
We have always enjoyed taking trips in the Fall, mainly because we need to travel to discover it. Some years it's Yosemite, which is stunning in the Fall.
Bodie State Park in October
Alternatively, driving out to the coast to watch the whales migrate and listen to the sea lions or wandering through the foggy redwoods is wonderful. Camping in the Fall is enjoyable.
That's it for me. Thanks for stopping by.

UPDATE:
Today, I had a loop recorder placed in my chest. It was a breeze - no pain or discomfort at all. Overall, the procedure lasted only five minutes. The remaining hour was spent reviewing the app on my phone - there's no device to take home. I need to ensure my phone is next to my bedside at night. I reviewed the discharge instructions, then enjoyed a delightful lunch of brie cheese, crackers, grapes, apples, and a glass of Calistoga water. I need to have a card with me, and for now, I only have a temporary one. Soon, I'll receive a new card to keep in my wallet.
I am thankful.

Can't wait to see some of your decorations in October. The Yosemite photo is beautiful. Santa Cruz is always a fun destination. Have been there many times. It looks very peaceful at Patrick's Point. Take care with your loop recorder. I hope this procedure does well for you. And I do hope you get some cooler days in the weeks ahead.

I’m totally surprised how uncomplicated it was and at least for me, no pain. I’m very pleased!😀
DeleteThank you so much for your loop update! God is so good!
ReplyDeleteYes He is!
DeleteIt's starting to look like Fall around here and the temps have been in the 70's. I have some mums on the porch and the pumpkins are coming.
ReplyDeleteGlad the loop recorder is in! Hopefully it shows what's been going on with you.
Nice.
DeleteThat would be nice if it does.
We went to Lake Tahoe and Yosemite back in 2019. The weather was perfect but the falls were not as big. We did see a bear feeding on salmon at Lake Tahoe. I will be glad when the weather changes. I did enjoy the tease of cooler weather. How long do you have to wear that monitor?
ReplyDeleteThe battery lasts 2-3 years. After that, they would either remove it or implant another one. I haven’t thought that far in advance.
DeleteHurrah, I'm so glad it went so well, and now no more worries about the procedure. I agree that fall is the best time to travel. Great weather and color!
ReplyDeleteI don’t even feel it. Just the adhesive bandage! This morning the app let me know it downloaded all the data from yesterday. It’s really amazing
DeleteYour video shows a beautiful vantage point.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your procedure went seamlessly - another thing to tick off the list.
Oh yes, it was such a peaceful place.
DeleteWonderful to hear that your procedure was both painless and quick, Debby. Hooray! Loved the photos you shared with us, too. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha
DeleteLovely places to travel! I'm glad your procedure went well!
ReplyDeleteI’m glad too
DeleteEnjoyed the photos.
ReplyDeletePraying for you!!
Thank you for the update. Hopefully this will take care of any issues. All of these trips sure look fun and for me October and November are perfect months for travel. October will be here sooner than we think and I look forward to seeing your pumpkins and mums you decorate with.
ReplyDeleteI’ll just have to wait and see what comes of this contraption.
DeleteI’ve been so preoccupied with other commitments I haven’t had the time to decorate. I’ll try and throw something together. I did get rid of most of my Fall stuff just this past summer because I had them for years and I was tired of them. I don’t even know what I have anymore.
I'm so glad that the procedure went so well and you are now monitored 24/7. Praying you will get the answers you need.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos of Yosemite and Patrick's Point.
Photographer son Steve and his business partner took 8 photographers there yesterday for a photo workshop. I can't wait to see the pictures.
Many a vacation in my youth were spent in the Patrick Point area with my folks.
Such amazing country.
We're enjoying the cooler temps today. 80's is just perfect.

We were in Trinidad this past weekend and it was lovely. I have always loved that area.
DeleteForgot to say that we love going to Bodie too. Tons of photo ops and fascinating country. I may have to re-post some of my photos from there.
ReplyDeleteSue
Love Bodie too. I loved going in the Fall. So much fun. I also love Virginia City in the Autumn months as well.
DeleteGosh Debby. Those sky shots are stunning. Fun to read your answers too! 🎃
ReplyDeleteThanks. I like dramatic skies.
DeleteGlad your loop recorder procedure went well. It was that quick for my husband too. Love all of the photos. One place I would like to go back to is Vermont or New Hampshire in the Fall. Janice
ReplyDeleteI bet that would be beautiful. I hope you can make it back and do some antiquing.
DeleteGood news to hear you device is in with no problems. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the sunflower!!
Yep it’s in there snugly. I can’t see it yet due to the bandage.
DeleteSo glad that the device was in and you didn't have a problem with it being inserted. Not a really great season decorator here, perhaps I should actually do something to the front deck.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I'm glad that your procedure went well. Enjoyed reading your answers. I'm with you on your answer to #4. I've been to those places and they are beautiful. Take care.
